Pam Category Five Cyclone

13 March 2015

Damaging winds are likely to brush eastern areas of the upper North Island as powerful tropical cyclone Pam makes its way south in the Pacific.
Cyclone Pam has been upgraded to a category five storm and on Friday it is expected to hit Vanuatu, where people are preparing for extensive damage.
Over the weekend the cyclone is expected to slide towards New Zealand and north-eastern areas could be in the firing line.
The Port of Auckland has released the following message:
Cyclone Pam is making her way towards NZ and Met Service have warned of a weather event on Sunday night/Monday morning. The forecast is still uncertain and we will not know until nearer the time how intense the event will be.
Some ships may be delayed and terminal operations may be slowed down or stopped.
Please take extra care over the weekend and Monday. Please note there may be a few delays on Monday morning at Port of Auckland. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your Malcolm Total Logistics representative on 0800 786 786.
