USA West Coast Congestion Surcharge
News: 4 February 2015
As a result of all USA West Coast congestion and disruptions in cargo movement, local drayage companies have significantly increased their rates. They are experiencing long waiting times, dry run and chassis splits.
However, as this situation is continuing, they are forced to implement a Temporary Congestion Surcharge to effected shipments.
This new surcharge will be in effect for vessels sailings on or after the 6th February 2015, exiting the USA West Coast (Chicago/Cleveland/Dallas/Detroit/Houston/Long Beach/Portland/San Francisco and Seattle) and is set at a level of US$6.00 per w/m for shipments to New Zealand.
Hopefully, a resolution to this situation is forthcoming in the near future. We thank you for your understanding and if you have any question please feel free to contact your Malcolm Total Logistics representative on 0800 786 786.
