Weighing in at an extravagant 359 tonne and with a cool $9million price tag, the Hitachi EX3600-6 excavator,the BIGGEST mining excavator in New Zealand has been delivered to OceanaGold mining at the Macraes gold mine with the help of the boys and girls here at Malcolm’s.

Arranging importation and customs clearing of this monster was no easy task, but it went off without a hitch, resulting in the delivery of the dissembled machine to CablePrice, the technical mining specialists. The excavator, shipped from Japan via Brisbane to Lyttelton harbour, was in delivered to the Macraes mine in the south, where the eager men and woman from CablePrice were assigned to reassemble the 41 separate pieces and send the excavator off to work.
