Dear Customer Sunday, 17 August 2014 there was train derailment that occurred on the main trunk line at Frankton. Whilst KiwiRail and Port of Tauranga Ltd are attempting to mitigate the impact of this derailment to all their MetroPort customers, the incident will cause delay to the northbound transfer of import cargo from the Tauranga Container Terminal through to the MetroPort Auckland facility. KiwiRail apologize for the inconvenience and the impact on their service as a result of the derailment. KiwiRail will continue to work to clear the line and effect required repairs to the line. Further updates on status of the line clearance will be provided in due course.
