I started with Malcolm Customs & Cargo (as we were known then) in 1993 as the sole charge Accounts Lady. Our small team of approximately 10 used to call me “AB”, and some still do. If you can’t work out what “AB” means, use your imagination, or call me for a chat and I’ll fill you in.
Being an ambitious soul, I jumped at the chance some years later to leave the office and meet clients and prospective clients. As the years progressed, our Accounts team grew to 5, and with several acquisitions of other local companies under our belt by then, I became the Group General Manager. We have a number of other companies under the Malcolm umbrella, with the most significant being our sister company Dangerous Goods Management. Check out their website www.dgm.co.nz for the services they offer. People are often surprised to hear I’ve been with Malcolm’s for so long – clearly I don’t look old enough(!) – but seriously, it’s because I love helping to shape the business that we have become and are yet to become, and I believe in our team, who as well as being amongst the very best in the industry, have the same values and standards as I do. I have 2 kids – picture below. I live on a rural property, so the kids have plenty of room to run around, and there are plenty of possums to shoot! Although I love to travel overseas and explore new countries, food and wine - the very best down-time is spent hanging out at home with family and friends. ![]() |
