Rena
The Rena's containers are still being unloaded from the ship. Before the Rena split 397 containers had been removed from the ship. About 500 containers are unaccounted for, salvage experts say they are unsure of how many containers are still on the vessel as it is too hazardous to dive in parts of the bow and stern.
Oil clean up has been on going, and a three nautical mile exclusion zone has stayed in place around the Astrolabe Reef.
Update On The Ports Of Auckland Strike
The ports of Auckland have just been served with another strike notice from the Maritime Union for a further 7 day stoppage directly after the current one expires. This in effect means we are dealing with a 14 day stoppage.
We are currently working through the implications but will get an advisory out to the market as soon as we can.
The current 7 day stoppage is from 0700 hours Friday 24th February to 0700 hours 2nd March and this latest notice covers 0701 hours Friday 2nd March to 0700 hours Friday 9th March.
